N175 Electrical Services for the North-South Corridor

Contract N175 covers the electrical services works for the North-South Corridor, a 21.5 km expressway under construction by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) that will link the East Coast Parkway to the northern parts of Singapore, running through Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Toa Payoh, and into the Central Area. The corridor combines viaduct sections in the north with a tunnelled alignment through the urban southern stretch, with the full expressway targeted for completion by 2029.

Electrical services for a corridor of this length and configuration span lighting, power distribution, and systems for both above ground viaduct sections and the underground tunnel portion, each with different servicing, access, and safety requirements. BIM modelling and coordination work on Contract N175 began in 2024, resolving the electrical services design against the corridor’s structural and civil works across its full length.

Coordinating electrical services across a 21.5 km corridor spanning open-air viaducts and underground tunnel sections, delivered as one contract within a larger multi-contract expressway project, required the electrical model to be aligned with structural and civil information from neighbouring contracts along the same alignment, ensuring services routing remained consistent across the corridor’s different structural typologies.
