The Singapore Institute of Technology’s (SIT) Punggol Campus is the university’s purpose built centralised home within Punggol Digital District, master-planned by JTC and designed by WOHA Architects. Located at 1 Punggol Coast Road and completed in 2024, the campus is organised across two plots, Campus Heart and Campus Court, and is designed to house 12,000 students, incorporating sustainability focused features as part of the district’s wider smart and sustainable ambitions.

As part of the campus’s energy strategy, AGC Glass Asia supplied building-integrated photovoltaic glass of approximately 400 sqm, with a rated output of 57.7 kWp to be installed in the skylight above the food court at Campus Court. The photovoltaic glass generates electricity while admitting natural light, forming one of several decentralised energy sources feeding SIT’s urban multi-energy microgrid, the first of its kind installed on a Southeast Asian campus, supporting the university’s pursuit of BCA Super Low Energy certification.

BIM modelling of the glass facade works was carried out for AGC Glass Asia, resolving the geometry and positioning of the photovoltaic skylight glazing against the surrounding roof and facade structure, coordinating a specialised, energy-generating glazing product within a broader facade system rather than a standard curtain wall installation
